CHRISTMAS EDITION
CHRISTMAS EDITION
This year if you’re not able to spend time with your family (grandparent, uncles, aunts, etc.) due to the pandemic, here’s a list of ideas to do when you’re bored:
- Binge-watch all of your favorite Christmas movies with your siblings and parents
- Drink hot chocolate next to your fireplace and enjoy a candy cane
- Make peppermint bark (check Pinterest)
- Bake one of your favorite treats
- If possible, Facetime family while opening presents
- Make a Christmas skit with your siblings
- If there’s snow… Go make a snowman with your siblings!
- Write a journal entry about Christmas during COVID-19
- Read a Christmas book
- Make a Christmas craft
- Make a gingerbread house
- Make a few Christmas cards and send them to your loved ones
- Start reading the book A Christmas Carol
- And be sure to spend time with your siblings and parents!
Right now if you’re looking for some new popular Christmas movies for this season; on Netflix, some of the trending movies are: Sugar Rush Christmas Season Two, Operation Christmas Drop, The Princess Switch: Switched Again, Christmas Chronicles, and Jingle Jangle.
If you have some cooking supplies (you don’t need a lot) you can make some peppermint bark. Here’s the recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
- white chocolate
- candy canes
- large pan
- parchment or wax paper
- peppermint extract (optional)
HOW TO DO IT:
- put several candy canes in a large plastic bag, and crush with a rolling pin until small bits
- lay down a piece of parchment paper to fit the pan
- melt the white chocolate (amount needed) add peppermint extract (optional)
- pour the chocolate onto the pan and sprinkle candy cane pieces on top
- Finally, refrigerate until dry and enjoy!
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY BY BLESSING THEM WITH HOLIDAY CHEER THIS TIME OF YEAR
Around this time, you might be fortunate but others not so much. This holiday put it on your agenda to make someone besides your family and friends happy.
Something versatile; maybe give mittens or a jacket or scarf to a homeless being or shelter. You can get more personal by simply asking what this person would like. Whatever it is it probably will be something simple, maybe something you have in your house already, no matter what it is this person will be grateful for your kindness.
If you want to help kids simply go to your local store or dinner and should see a Christmas tree filled with angels or stars. These are children's wish lists. You then go to the store, pick out what they said they needed and wanted and drop them off. This will make someone very happy as it will you.
Another thing you can do (not sure how this will work with the virus) but talk to your city council about baking hot meals and handing them out to whoever needs one for Christmas.
I hope you can take this into consideration this holiday. Don't forget the true meaning of Christmas ;)
